For the past eight years, Tirschwell & Co., Inc. has been responsible for the design of lights for the tree.

In 2007, for the 75th anniversary of the tree and to kick off the Green Campaign of Tishman Speyer Properties, we designed a light emitting diode lighting system that used one third the normal power usage of the tree, even though we increased the quantity of lamps by about 20% to address a lower intensity source.

The same system will be used again in 2008 as the lights were recycled.
