Matthew Tirschwell
Bowling Name: Light it Up
Matthew Tirschwell, principal, has extensive knowledge of the lighted environment and its impact on architecture. His training began with theatrical lighting, and completed numerous lighting and scenic designs prior to focusing on architectural lighting design.
He has taught at FIT, has held master classes in the Dominican Republic and Utah. In addition, he has spoken at engagements for both academic and professional organizations.
Currently, he is the treasurer of the New York student chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.
He has a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Art in Theatrical Design from Ithaca College, and a Master’s degree in Architectural Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design.
Outside his professional career, Matthew is a NYS emergency medical technician volunteering with the Central Park Medical Unit, and a volunteer firefighter with the Ocean Bay Park Fire Department.
