Wa are looking for full-time Staff Lighting Designers and Associate Designers in our New York and Los Angeles offices. The successful candidate is keen to detail and has up to three years of relevant work experience in Architectural Lighting Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or a similar industry.The successful candidate will work on a team with other Staff and Associate Lighting Designers under the direction of a Senior Lighting Designer. The projects will include a mix of high-end residential, corporate interiors, hospitality, and landscape projects throughout the United States.
The successful candidate must be well organized, resourceful, dedicated, and have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. This is a deadline-driven studio environment; candidates should be comfortable making decisions with imperfect information and committing to timelines. The candidate should aspire to rise in their profession and witness their projects come to life, in person.
QUALIFICATIONS
The position of Lighting Designer requires exceptional architectural and lighting knowledge from both academia and professional experience.
A Bachelors or Masters degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, or lighting design is preferred, however multiple years of work experience is equally valued.
Some work experience in both residential and commercial projects with an understanding and interest in lighting design is highly preferred.
Proficiency in the latest versions of Auto CAD and Revit, is required
Experience with AGI32 or other lighting calculation tools
Design portfolio demonstrating work
Right to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case by case basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Work collaboratively as a team-member in a studio handling multiple projects at the same time.
Actively participate in all phases of a project, from fixture research to project commissioning
Produce Lighting Design Plans in CAD and Revit, including lighting details
Specify Light Fixture Assemblies and Develop Specification Packages
Perform Lighting and Photometric Calculations in AGI or by hand
Build small and full scale mock-ups using x-acto blades, drills, manual and electric cutting machines, and other carpentry tools
Wire high and low-voltage lighting fixtures and control systems
Learn lighting control system software
Assist with setting light levels, moving ladders and furniture, and working on a ladder or scaffolding to aim adjustable accent lights.

The Senior Designer has all the qualifications of a Lighting Designer (above), with 8+ years of professional experience in an architectural lighting design firm, a proven history of managing both staff and projects, and can lead an entire project from conceptual design to completion. The Senior Designer will be involved in business wide discussions, creating and updating standards and protocols, and other high level decisions.
